Apple Announces AirPods 5 With Improved Active Noise Cancellation
The new open-ear earbuds add stronger ANC, improved sound, Siri AI, Live Translation, and longer battery life.
Apple has announced AirPods 5, bringing stronger active noise cancellation, redesigned acoustics, hands-free Siri AI, and Live Translation to its open-ear earbuds.
Apple says AirPods 5 can remove up to 50% more external noise than AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. The new model also adds a redesigned multiport acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ for improved sound.

Better ANC and smarter features
AirPods 5 improve Transparency mode and add Adaptive Audio, which balances ANC and Transparency mode based on the surrounding environment. Conversation Awareness can also lower media volume when the user starts speaking.
The earbuds use the H2 chip for hands-free intelligent features. With an Apple Intelligence-supported iPhone, users can access Siri AI without picking up their phone. Apple says Siri AI can use personal context from messages, emails, photos, and other apps, while Live Translation can help users communicate across supported languages.
Battery life also improves. AirPods 5 offer up to five hours of listening with ANC on a single charge. With the Wireless Charging Case, total ANC listening time reaches up to 22 hours.
