Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash Adds 4K Video and 40-Second Scenes
Google's updated video model adds longer scene extensions, first-and-last-frame controls, cheaper 360p drafts, and 4K upscaling.
Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash is now available as a production-ready update for developers, adding more control over AI video generation and editing. The model can extend scenes in 10-second increments to a cumulative 40 seconds, generate transitions between first and last frames, and upscale finished videos to 1080p or 4K.
Google says Omni 1.1 Flash can analyze up to 10 seconds of preceding video when extending a scene, compared with the final second in the earlier model. That extra context is designed to improve visual consistency and narrative continuity as a clip is extended.
Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash adds new video controls
Developers can now provide a starting frame and an ending frame and have the model generate the footage between them. Google says the control can be used for camera orbits, zooms, transitions, and looping shots. Video references of up to three seconds can also be supplied to help maintain visual context and character consistency.
For faster iteration, Omni 1.1 Flash supports 360p drafts that Google says can generate up to 60% faster and at one-third the cost of its standard 720p output. Final results can then be produced at 1080p or upscaled to 4K. The 4K option is an upscale rather than native 4K generation.
Where Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash is available
Google is making the model available through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Omni 1.1 Flash is also available in Google Flow for AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, while scene extension is available to those subscribers in the Gemini app.

Google says Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash is rolling out across its developer ecosystem now. The update is aimed less at simply generating a single clip and more at giving developers controls for extending, refining, and iterating on AI-generated video.
