Meta Launches Muse Voice Dictation for Mac
The new Mac app brings voice dictation and screen-aware AI assistance into desktop workflows.
Meta has launched a Mac version of Meta AI with Muse voice dictation, allowing speech to be transcribed into other apps while the assistant can also work with content visible on the desktop. Meta lists the Mac app as a beta download on its official Meta AI site.
The Mac app moves Meta AI closer to everyday desktop workflows. Meta says users can use their voice to dictate in any app and point Meta AI at a desktop window to work through tasks.
Muse voice dictation works across Mac apps
The main addition is system-wide voice input. Users can speak and have the resulting text entered into another Mac application, reducing the need to switch between a chat window and the app where they are writing.
Meta says the Mac app is powered by Muse Spark, its multimodal model family. The company has been expanding Muse into products covering image generation, coding, and now desktop assistance.
Meta AI can also work with the desktop screen
Voice dictation is paired with screen-aware assistance. Meta’s product page says the Mac app can work with content in a desktop window, giving the assistant more context than a standalone chat interface.
This release adds another use for Meta’s Muse models on consumer devices. Saganote has also covered Meta’s Muse image generator and Muse Code for large codebases.
Meta currently lists the Mac app as a beta download. The company says the Mac version adds desktop-focused voice and screen interaction to its broader Meta AI assistant.
