Anthropic Files for IPO as Claude Revenue Surges

The company reported $16.3 billion in first-half revenue, while its filing also disclosed a large net loss.

Anthropic has filed for an initial public offering, taking a major step toward a stock-market listing as its Claude business expands. The Anthropic IPO filing reports $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, alongside a large net loss.

The company said it plans to list its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol ANT. Anthropic has not yet set the number of shares it will sell or the price range for the offering. The registration statement must become effective before shares can be sold.

Revenue is rising, but the filing also shows losses

Anthropic reported about $16.3 billion in revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2026, up from roughly $1.2 billion in the same period a year earlier. The filing also reported a net loss of about $80.7 billion, driven largely by noncash accounting adjustments linked to convertible debt.

That net-loss figure does not mean Anthropic spent $80.7 billion in cash running its business during the period. The company also reported an operating loss of about $693 million, a separate measure of operating performance. The two figures describe different parts of its financial position.

The revenue growth follows other signs of demand for Claude, including Saganote's report on Anthropic's revenue run rate reaching $30 billion. Readers comparing the leading AI developers can also see how Anthropic differs from OpenAI and Google DeepMind.

IPO pricing has not been announced

Anthropic's filing does not yet provide a final IPO price or share count, so the size and valuation of the offering remain unsettled. Reports about possible fundraising totals or a potential valuation should not be treated as confirmed terms.

The company published its announcement and registration information on its official website. Investors will have more concrete details to assess once the offering's terms are set and the registration statement becomes effective.
