The numbers are straightforward: the current temporary allowance is 150% of the original baseline, while the new permanent allowance will be 125%. That makes the new limit about 16.7% lower than the amount available today, even though it remains 25% above the original baseline.

Anthropic's ClaudeDevs account said the 50% increase will remain in place until September 14. A follow-up post clarified that the permanent change works out to a 17% reduction compared with today's limits and said Anthropic is working on changes that will give users more visibility and control over usage.

The change follows earlier adjustments to Claude Code's usage caps. Saganote previously covered Anthropic's extension of Claude Code rate limits. No new fixed weekly allowance figures were provided in the announcement.
