How to Use Find Hub Remembered to Keep Track of Things You Put Away

If you often forget where you put a passport, spare key, charger, glasses, tools, or another everyday item, Find Hub Remembered gives you a simple way to record that location. Instead of attaching a tracker to the item, you tell Gemini where you placed it and Find Hub keeps the information for later.

Find Hub Remembered works on Android 16 or later. You need the Find Hub and Gemini apps, the same Google Account signed in to both, and Gemini set as the device's default digital assistant. Google says the feature is intended for physical items and locations, not digital files, abstract ideas, or events.

What you need to use Find Hub Remembered

• An Android device running Android 16 or later.
• The Find Hub app installed.
• The Gemini app installed.
• The same Google Account signed in to Find Hub and Gemini.
• Gemini set as the device's default digital assistant.
• An active internet connection when using Gemini to save or retrieve remembered items.

How to save an item with Gemini

The fastest way to create a remembered item is to tell Gemini what the item is and where you placed it. Be specific about both parts so the saved entry is useful later.

1. Activate Gemini by saying Hey Google or by pressing and holding the power button if touch activation is enabled.
2. Tell Gemini to remember the item in Find Hub and give its storage location.
3. Wait for Gemini to process the request and save the item.

For example, say, "Hey Google, remember in Find Hub that my passport is in the top bedroom drawer." You can also save a spare house key, an umbrella, a wallet, or a set of batteries.

How to manually add an item in Find Hub

If you prefer to enter the details yourself, Find Hub has a manual option. This is useful when you want to add a precise storage spot or address.

1. Open the Find Hub app.
2. Tap Remembered at the bottom right.
3. Tap Add.
4. Enter the item's Name, such as Passport or Spare Key.
5. Enter the Storage spot, such as Top bedroom drawer.
6. Enter the Location, such as Home or a street address.
7. Tap Save.

If you give Find Hub location permission, it can automatically detect and save your current address when you add or update an item. Google says you can allow Find Hub to save locations even while the app is closed by choosing Allow all the time for location permission.

How to find an item you remembered

When you need the item again, activate Gemini and ask a natural question such as, "Hey Google, where is my passport?" or "Where did I put the AA batteries?"

1. Open the Find Hub app.
2. Tap Remembered at the bottom right.
3. Browse your saved items or use the search bar.
4. Select an item to view its saved details.

How to update an item's location

If you move something after saving it, update the existing entry instead of creating another one. With Gemini, explicitly say that the item has moved.

• "Hey Google, update in Find Hub that my passport is now in the home safe."
• "Move my spare house key to the kitchen drawer in Find Hub."

Google says using the exact name of an existing item when saving a new storage spot can update its storage location instead of creating a duplicate.

1. Open Find Hub.
2. Tap Remembered.
3. Select the item you want to change.
4. Tap Storage spot to change where the item is kept.
5. Tap Location to change the address or place.

Add photos or notes to a remembered item

Google lets you add notes and up to two photos to a remembered item. This can help when several belongings look similar or when the storage instructions need extra context.

1. Open Find Hub and tap Remembered.
2. Select the item you want to edit.
3. Tap Add a photo to add up to two photos.
4. Tap Notes to add a useful reminder.

How to remove a remembered item

1. Open Find Hub.
2. Tap Remembered.
3. Select the item.
4. At the bottom, tap Remove from Find Hub.
5. Tap Remove to confirm.

What to do if Find Hub Remembered is not working

Gemini does not save the item

Make sure Gemini is still the default digital assistant. Open Settings, tap Apps, then Default Apps, then Digital Assistant App, and confirm that Gemini is selected.

Also make the command explicit. Google recommends mentioning Find Hub or clearly stating the storage spot, such as: "Hey Google, remember in Find Hub my wallet is on the kitchen counter."

Find Hub is not available inside Gemini

Check Gemini's connected apps. Open Gemini, go to your profile and Connected Apps, and make sure Find Hub is turned on. Google notes that some versions may place Connected Apps under Personal Intelligence first.

Gemini cannot save the item while offline

Google says Gemini needs an active internet connection to process voice commands and save new items to Find Hub. Once an item has been saved, it can usually still be viewed in Find Hub if the device temporarily loses its connection.

Remembered items are not shared with family members

Remembered items are currently stored privately in the individual Google Account. Other family members cannot access or edit your remembered items.

Tips for getting better results

• Use a specific storage spot, such as top bedroom drawer, instead of a vague description like bedroom.
• Say "in Find Hub" when saving an item if Gemini does not recognize the request.
• Keep item names consistent when you move something so Gemini can update the existing entry.
• Add a photo when the item is visually similar to other belongings.
• Use notes for details that are easy to forget, such as which folder or box contains the item.
• Use a tracker tag when you need actual location tracking rather than a saved memory.

Find Hub Remembered is best for things that are easy to misplace

Find Hub Remembered works best as a digital memory for physical belongings. Save the location when you put something away, then use Gemini or the Remembered section in Find Hub when you need the information again. If you need live tracking, use a compatible tracker instead.
