Apple's redesigned Apple Health app is getting a new Health Age feature, a readiness score, and personalized insights powered by Apple Intelligence. The update is designed to make long-term health trends easier to understand without replacing the underlying health data.

Apple Health app gets a new Insights tab

The redesigned Apple Health app adds an Insights tab that brings together information from heart health, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals, and cycle tracking. Apple Intelligence can use those signals to surface personalized guidance based on the information already stored in the app.

A new Longevity tab adds Health Age, which uses Apple Watch measurements including VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep, and heart rate variability. Users can also add blood biomarkers such as A1c and LDL when those results are available.

Readiness score summarizes recovery signals

The new readiness score gives the Apple Health app a 0 to 10 measure intended to show how prepared a person may be for activity. Apple groups the guidance into four states: Recover, Pace Yourself, Ready, and Go For It.

Apple Intelligence can also surface suggestions based on health and fitness data. Apple gives examples such as recommending changes to a workout routine. Movement assessments can use an iPhone camera and Apple Watch to measure flexibility, strength, balance, and movement mechanics.

The health features are closely tied to Apple's new watch hardware. Our coverage of the Apple Watch Series 12 and Watch Ultra 4 explains the new health sensing system and the data those watches can collect.

The update also arrives alongside Apple's latest iPhone lineup. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max add the hardware platform for the broader Apple Intelligence rollout.

When the redesigned Apple Health app arrives

Apple says the redesigned Apple Health app will roll out later this year, starting with U.S. English. Health Age requires an Apple Watch.

Apple is also adding a Quest lab partnership offering a panel covering more than 50 biomarkers for $119 at about 2,000 locations. The company says the redesigned Health experience is intended to bring longer-term health information and more actionable context into one place.

The broader Apple ecosystem is changing at the same time. Apple's new AirPods 5 with improved active noise cancellation also expand the company's on-device and AI-assisted features across its hardware lineup.
