GeForce NOW Adds Firefox Support on Windows, With 1440p at 120 FPS
NVIDIA's cloud gaming service is now officially supported in Firefox 154 on Windows.
GeForce NOW now officially supports Firefox on Windows, giving users a way to stream supported PC games directly from the browser without installing the GeForce NOW desktop app. The support arrived with Firefox 154 after Mozilla and NVIDIA worked to make the service compatible with Firefox.
The change is especially relevant for people who already use Firefox as their main browser. GeForce NOW had previously listed browsers such as Chrome, Edge, and Opera GX for web access, leaving Firefox users outside the official supported lineup. Firefox is now part of that browser experience on Windows.
What Firefox users can stream
GeForce NOW streams games from the cloud, so the local PC does not need to run the game itself. Users can open the GeForce NOW web client in Firefox, sign in, connect supported game libraries, and launch compatible titles from the browser.

GeForce NOW supports up to 1440p at 120 FPS
NVIDIA says GeForce NOW Ultimate members can use QHD streaming at up to 1440p and 120 FPS in a supported browser. NVIDIA's current GeForce NOW system requirements list at least 35 Mbps for QHD streaming at 120 FPS, along with a recommendation for a wired Ethernet connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
The maximum resolution and frame rate depend on the membership, display, hardware, network conditions, and game. A slower or unstable connection can require lower streaming settings even when the browser itself is supported.
Firefox support starts with Windows
The current official rollout is focused on Firefox on Windows. Mozilla's Firefox team says GeForce NOW works on Linux today, but official Linux support is planned for the future. The current announcement does not add official Firefox support for macOS.
Firefox users should also make sure they are running a current version of the browser. Firefox 154 is the release associated with the new GeForce NOW support, and Mozilla recommends keeping Firefox updated.
Why this matters for Firefox users
The main change is simple: Firefox can now be used as an officially supported GeForce NOW client on Windows. That removes the need to switch browsers just to access NVIDIA's cloud gaming service.
The addition also closes a long-running compatibility gap. Mozilla's public web-compatibility tracking shows that GeForce NOW had previously warned Firefox users that the browser was unsupported, while later testing moved the compatibility work forward.
For now, Windows is the supported Firefox platform. Linux users can use GeForce NOW today, according to Mozilla, but official Firefox support for Linux is still planned for a future update.
