Gemini Uses Google Maps History to Recommend Places Around Your Schedule

Personal Intelligence can combine saved places and Maps searches with Calendar details to suggest where to go next.

Gemini Google Maps integration is expanding to help users find places that fit their plans, not just their search terms. Google’s Personal Intelligence can now reference Google Maps searches and saved places alongside Google Calendar to make recommendations based on a user’s schedule.

Google’s example is a person who has saved restaurants to try and asks Gemini to find the best option after their meetings. With permission to use the connected services, Gemini can consider where the last meeting is scheduled and suggest saved places nearby. That could reduce the need to check a calendar, open Maps, and compare saved locations separately.

The change builds on Google’s broader effort to make Gemini responses more personal by connecting relevant Google services. Saganote has also covered the Gemini Map tool for adding map areas to prompts and Gemini’s connected-app context in cars, where personal information can help answer location-related requests.

Personal Intelligence is optional, and users choose which services Gemini can access through its personalization settings. Google says the feature is rolling out to eligible personal accounts, with availability varying by account and region. The Maps-and-Calendar recommendation example was reported on October 22; Google has not published a separate detailed availability schedule for this specific expansion.
