Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 Fixes 16 Pixel Bugs Across UI and More

Google has released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 for Pixel testers, two weeks after Beta 3. The build is now at Platform Stability, and Google's official Android Beta Program post lists 16 fixes in this release. The builds are CP41.260814.003.A2 and CP41.260814.003.B1, with CP41.260814.003.C2 for the Pixel 11 series marked as coming soon. • Launcher status bar: Fixed a transparent status bar appearing after fullscreen video when the “render apps below the cutout area” developer setting was enabled.
• Thermal stability: Fixed a problem that could make devices overheat and unexpectedly reboot.
• USB-C XR mirroring: Fixed screen mirroring to external USB-C XR glasses.
• Gesture navigation: Fixed unresponsive gestures when apps were rendered below the display cutout.
• 80% charge limit: Fixed excessive charging time during the final 2% when the battery limit was enabled.
• App drawer search: Fixed launcher search failing to process typed text.
• Power menu blur: Fixed the missing background blur behind the navigation bar when the power menu was opened with hardware buttons.
• Bluetooth call audio: Fixed calls defaulting to the phone speaker instead of a connected Bluetooth device.
• Recents rendering: Fixed intermittent freezing and clipping of the first task card during horizontal scrolling.

Which Pixels get Beta 4?

Beta 4 is available for Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 8 series, Pixel 9 series, and Pixel 10 series devices listed by Google. Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not supported for this QPR2 release. Google lists the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold on the upcoming C2 build, but says that build will be available soon.

The update is a beta, not the stable Android 17 release. Testers can use the Android Beta Program for the over-the-air update, while Google's Android Developers site provides the QPR2 downloads and installation information.
