Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7.1 is rolling out as a follow-up to the previous beta, with a targeted fix for severe user interface stuttering and freezes that can last several seconds. Google lists the issue as bug #571186734 in its official Android 17 QPR2 release notes.
The update uses build number CP41.260831.019 and is dated October 16, 2026. Google’s system images cover supported devices from the Pixel 6a through the Pixel 11 series, including Pixel Fold models and the Pixel Tablet, as well as the Android Emulator.
There is one caveat for the newest foldable: Google says Pixel 11 Pro Fold owners may need to enroll in Face Unlock again for it to work properly after installing Beta 7.1.
The previous release, Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7, addressed excessive idle battery drain linked to Flip to Shh and failed HTTPS downloads. Earlier testing also brought a range of Pixel fixes in Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4.
Beta 7.1 is a maintenance update rather than a feature-focused release. As with other preview builds, users should expect potential bugs and check Google’s release notes for device-specific details before installing.
