Snapchat is launching Plans, a new set of event-planning features designed to turn the gatherings people already discuss in chats into organized events without leaving the app. The feature covers everything from birthday celebrations and study sessions to casual weekend meetups.
With Snapchat Plans, users can create an event, add its details, invite up to 200 friends, and track who is attending. Invitations are sent through one-to-one chats, while the Bitmoji shown on invitations can change as friends respond to the event.
Snapchat is also adding automatic reminders for attendees before an event begins. A new My Plans section on user profiles is designed to keep upcoming and past events in one place, making it easier to see what is scheduled without searching through old conversations.
