Meta Muse Personal AI Agent Arrives on iPhone and Mac
Meta's personal AI agent expands from iPhone and web access to a Mac app that can work across apps, files, and messages.
Meta Muse is expanding from its initial iPhone and web rollout to the Mac. Meta launched the personal AI agent in the US on September 8, and a Mac app followed on September 17. The Mac release lets Muse work across apps, files, calendar, notes, and messages on the computer.

The iPhone app is the main consumer entry point for Meta Muse, while the Mac version brings the agent closer to the operating system. 9to5Mac reports that the iPhone app is currently limited to the US, with wider availability planned over time. The service is also available through the web at muse.ai.

What Meta Muse can do
Meta designed Muse as a personal AI agent that can take actions rather than only answer questions. It can handle tasks such as sending email and booking travel, open a browser, fill out forms, and continue working on longer tasks after a person closes the app.
The system runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated virtual machine that houses the agent and connected data. Meta says users choose which apps Muse can access, can change those permissions, and are asked for approval before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase.

The Mac release changes where the agent can operate, but Meta's access model remains user-controlled. The company says Muse provides an audit trail of its actions, keeps credentials in secure storage, and lets people opt out of having their interactions used to train Meta's AI models.
