Google Search Console Platform Properties Roll Out Globally for Social and Video Content
Brands and creators can now see clicks, impressions, and search position for posts on Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube - all from Search Console.
Search Console Platform Properties are now globally available. Google announced the rollout today alongside a new help guide, giving brands and creators on Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube a way to see how their posts perform across Google Search, Discover, and Google News - without needing developer or ownership access to those platform domains.
Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube Are the Four Platforms Now Covered
Google covers four platforms at this stage. Performance data shows how posts on Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube appear across Google Search, Discover, and Google News - clicks, impressions, position, and CTR, all broken out by query, country, and device. Earlier this year, Google added Calendar and other apps as connected data sources in Search's AI Mode, and search console platform properties follow the same direction: measuring content performance on platforms publishers do not host.
Creators Could Not See This Data Before Today
Each platform has its own analytics. Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube all surface internal engagement data, but only for traffic that stays within the platform. Google has always indexed social content - profile pages, short-form videos, and posts from all four platforms appear regularly in search results - but creators had no visibility into which queries drove those clicks or how their content ranked by location and device. Platform properties route that search-side data into Search Console, next to the web properties brands already track.
New Help Guide Covers Five Use Cases for the Data
A new guide accompanies the global rollout. Covering five use cases, the guide walks through understanding search audiences for social content, finding trending posts, analyzing performance across platforms, optimizing existing content, and comparing formats to see which performs best on Google Search. Brands running multi-platform strategies now have a way to see how Instagram Reels, TikTok posts, and YouTube Shorts compare inside a tool they already use.
Search console platform properties launched globally today - Google limited the feature to an early rollout for much of July 2026. Any Search Console account now has access. Whether brands treat this as a primary analytics signal or a secondary data point depends on how search-side traffic compares to what Instagram and TikTok already report for organic reach.
