YouTube Bundles Peacock Premium Into Its Subscription Starting Early 2027
NFL, NBA, SNL, and Universal movies all come with YouTube Premium. Peacock's largest wholesale deal ever.
YouTube Peacock bundle is official: Google and NBCUniversal announced Monday that ad-supported Peacock Premium will be included with YouTube Premium subscriptions in the US starting early 2027. Neither company has confirmed a price change. Details on how existing subscribers access the benefit are coming "over the coming months," per YouTube.
From early 2027, YouTube Premium members gain access to Peacock's lineup of live sports, NBCUniversal originals, and Universal Pictures films. NFL and NBA games are included. So are Saturday Night Live, Love Island USA, and Law & Order: SVU. A selection of NBCUniversal live sports events will also stream on the NBC Sports YouTube channel at no charge - available to all YouTube users, not just Premium subscribers.
Peacock Signs Its Largest Distribution Deal After Its First Profitable Year
Peacock turned a profit in 2026 after six years of losses, reaching 48 million US subscribers. Landing inside YouTube Premium - which has already surpassed Netflix in daily viewing time with 125 million global subscribers - is a distribution deal Peacock has not come close to before. YouTube described it as Peacock's largest wholesale partnership to date.
For YouTube, live sports rights are the missing piece. Google's Q2 2026 earnings showed YouTube ad revenue accelerating, with the platform taking viewing time away from traditional broadcast. Peacock plugs in NFL and NBA games - content YouTube has never owned - under the same $15.99 monthly subscription.
The YouTube Peacock Bundle Extends the YouTube TV Deal Too
Monday's announcement also extends YouTube TV's existing distribution agreement with NBCUniversal. That separate deal keeps NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC inside YouTube's live TV product. Both deals run under the same multi-year agreement. The YouTube Peacock bundle is the headline; the YouTube TV extension is the part that keeps NBCUniversal's broader channel lineup inside Google's pay-TV service.
Bundling a streaming service into a music and video subscription is territory Amazon has developed aggressively with Prime Video, wrapping delivery, gaming, and streaming into one bill. Whether the YouTube Peacock bundle makes subscribers stay or becomes a feature they never open is the real test - YouTube has distribution, Peacock has the sports rights, and the question is whether the two together are worth $15.99 a month to someone who currently pays neither.
YouTube Premium costs $15.99 per month in the US. Neither company has set an official launch date inside the early 2027 window, and no ad-free Peacock upgrade pricing has been announced.
