OnePlus 16 Launches in China on October 12 With 185Hz Gaming Display

OnePlus has confirmed its next flagship will debut in China with a 185Hz gaming mode and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

The OnePlus 16 launch date is set for October 12 in China. OnePlus confirmed the date at its 2026 OnePlus Gaming Conference, where it also detailed the phone's gaming-focused hardware and software. The company has a dedicated OnePlus 16 launch page.

The headline gaming feature is a 185Hz refresh rate, with OnePlus saying the phone can support native 185fps gaming in selected titles. The device is built around the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and uses additional display, touch, and connectivity hardware for its gaming system.

OnePlus says the phone supports a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate, while compatible games can reach 185Hz. Early supported titles include Peace Elite, Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future, and Naruto Mobile. The company is also introducing its Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel and a three-chip gaming system covering display, touch response, and network connectivity.

The OnePlus 16 has already appeared in earlier Saganote coverage for its rear Interstellar Lighting Effect, which can be used for notifications and other visual cues. OnePlus has also revealed the phone's design, colors, and storage options as China reservations opened.

Global Launch Date Is Still Unknown

The October 12 date applies to China. OnePlus has not announced an international launch date in the information released so far, so availability outside China remains unclear. The company has also faced broader market changes previously covered by Saganote in its report on OnePlus and Realme's market exits.

OnePlus is expected to reveal the remaining details, including pricing and availability, at the October 12 launch event.
