Roblox RDC 2026 opened September 11 with nine platform announcements split across play access, developer tooling, and creator payments - the broadest single-event feature slate in the conference's 12-year run. Players logged 29 billion hours on the platform in Q2 2026. Creators earned $1.7 billion over the past 12 months, out of $5 billion total since DevEx launched in 2013.

Web Play and Offline Mode End the Install Requirement

Web Play brings Roblox to Chrome before year-end. No download required. Players with a browser can launch any game from a link, removing the install step that historically causes the highest drop-off rate among new users. Roblox Everywhere runs alongside - standalone apps for mobile, PC, and consoles give players a native client option beyond the existing desktop app.

Offline Mode rounds out the access announcements. Single-player campaigns will run without a network connection, which makes Roblox viable in markets where mobile data costs remain high and connection reliability is inconsistent. Roblox gave no launch window for Offline Mode beyond the September 11 announcement.

Build Spreads to Serbia and Singapore, Gets a Scene Generator

Build's public alpha spreads to Serbia and Singapore. Around 9,000 games published during the earlier alpha phase, and 71% of those creators had never opened Roblox Studio before. When Build launched on iPhone in July, prompt-based creation reached a group that Lua scripting never attracted - these RDC numbers confirm that audience is real and growing.

Scene Generator arrives later in 2026. No Lua required - a text prompt converts into a full playable Roblox environment, which fits the broader push toward agentic AI tools handling creative production without technical prerequisites. Desktop access and expanded asset libraries also roll out to Build users, along with two new NPC behaviors by year-end - one of them a playtest NPC that simulates player activity so creators can test solo.

Roblox Wallet Pays Creators Daily in Real Currency

Roblox Wallet is the biggest creator monetization announcement from Roblox RDC 2026. Eligible U.S. creators aged 18 and older will receive automatic daily payouts in real currency, replacing the monthly DevEx settlement cycle with same-day access to earned funds. Airwallex US handles the payment infrastructure. Balances transfer to external accounts, and a branded Roblox debit card ships in 2027.

Daily payouts represent a real operational change for full-time creators who currently plan personal budgets around a once-monthly settlement. At $1.7 billion distributed over the past 12 months, Roblox's creator economy runs at a scale where improving payout frequency by 30x is not a minor convenience. Most creator platforms still settle weekly at best - daily remains rare.

Moments Tab, 2D Support, and What Comes Next

Moments Tab goes fully live in the U.S., bringing Roblox's in-platform gameplay video feed to all users for sharing clips across games. Discovery Ranking gets a dual-optimization update, now testing metrics that balance recommendations separately for casual and hardcore player segments rather than collapsing both into a single signal. For developers, 2D game support arrives with an orthographic camera and sprite-sheet import, expanding what Roblox can host beyond three-dimensional worlds.

Roblox's next milestone is Web Play before year-end. Scene Generator and Wallet payouts both land at unspecified dates in the coming months. None of those windows were made more specific at Roblox RDC 2026.
