The update is aimed at teams, educators, creators, and anyone collaborating on videos in Google Drive, making feedback more precise while reducing back-and-forth during the review process.
How Timestamped Comments Work
Leaving a comment works much like adding comments to documents or PDFs in Google Drive, but with one important difference. Comments are now attached to a specific timestamp in the video, making it easy for collaborators to jump directly to the moment being discussed.

Designed for Faster Video Reviews
The new feature is designed to make reviewing videos in Google Drive more efficient. Instead of searching through long comment threads or manually entering timestamps, collaborators can click a timeline marker and immediately jump to the relevant part of the video.
Timestamped comments are available when viewing videos in Google Drive on the web. On Android and iOS, the comments can still be viewed, but they'll appear as standard file comments rather than timeline markers.
The update is another example of Google expanding collaboration features across its productivity apps. It also follows the recent rollout of local documents backup in Google Drive for Android, giving users more ways to manage and work with their files across devices.
